Why do some companies not ship to APO/FPO address?

Many companies do not ship to APO or FPO addresses because they have bulk shipping contracts with FedEx or UPS to save money.  Some  companies do not have an automated way to handle APO/FPO customs requirements.

APOBox solves this by giving you a U.S. mailing address where any company can send your package.  We then take care of all customs paperwork & forward it to you via the USPS.

USPS Shipping Time

USPS Shipping Times

Once your package departs our warehouse the US Postal Service (USPS) and the Military Postal service Agency (MPSA) is responsible for delivering your package to your APO/FPO address.

Priority mail is shipped via air to APO/FPO addresses and normally take around 10-15 days to most locations. If you are lucky to live next to the major military air hub for your region (Frankfurt, Baghdad, Kabul, Azores), then you often receive packages faster. Some customers have received their package in less than 7 days! For those in remote outstations, it can take over 30 days to reach you.

Size does matter

The larger your package, the longer it tends to take getting on and off the space available aircraft. There is normally room for a stack of smaller light weight boxes on each military cargo aircraft, so they tend to get there even quicker.

Some times packages ordered on the same day show up several weeks apart at the APO/FPO post office. This is because of the “luck of the draw” on what planes were flying to your location and what the military postal clerk grabbed on the runway to load.

†All packages must comply with the USPS APO/FPO size (no larger than 108″ length width girth for regular size or 108″ – 130″ length width girth for oversize packages) and weight regulations for your APO FPO DPO zip code.
